Day 1: VENICE – ARRIVAL
Arriving at Venice’s airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight.
Day 2: VENICE
Today begins with a walking tour of Venice featuring the major highlights: St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, Bell Tower, and Bridge of Sighs. Then you visit a glassblowing factory where you will watch a master artisan demonstrate this traditional Venetian art. The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy Venice at your own or to take an optional gondola ride. Overnight.
DAY 3: VENICE – TRIESTE – POSTOJNA CAVES – LJUBLJANA
After breakfast, drive to Trieste, the capital of Friuli Venezia-Giulia, with its large port and high karst cliffs, rising behind the city. Visit the Miramar Castle perched on a cliff above the sea, built by the Emperor Franz Joseph’s. Then drive to Postojna and visit the famous cave, one of the largest in the world. Its stalagmite and stalactite formations are unequalled anywhere. An electric train will take you into the caves and then enjoy in the underground karst world, where nature was the main architect through the millennia and has formed amazing formations. Then we continue to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Overnight.
DAY 4: LJUBLJANA – BLED – LJUBLJANA
In the morning the guided tour will take you to the baroque old town, Prešeren Square, Congress Square, the City Hall, the Cathedral, the ‘Butchers’ Bridge, the Dragon Bridge, and the open market, very popular with the locals. After a short break Then we drive to Bled, Slovenia’s most popular tourist resort. There you a walk along the lakeshore and visit the Bled Castle with its scenic views. The positive energy of this place was discovered very early, it became a pilgrimage site and later a health resort. In the late afternoon you return back to Ljubljana. Overnight.
DAY 5: LJUBLJANA – LAKE BALATON – BUDAPEST
Today you have a journey to Budapest, Hungarian capital also named as the “Paris of the East”. En route you visit the Lake Balaton with its charming small towns like Heviz and Tihany. After arrival to Budapest you have free time to shop along the famous Vaci Utca street, get some typical food or sip an excellent Hungarian wine. Overnight.
DAY 6: BUDAPEST
After breakfast you start with sightseeing tour of this charming and beautiful city which was declared as World Heritage site in 1987. The main attractions are: The Parliament, Matthias Church, Royal Palace and the Castle Hill, Fisherman’s Bastion, Heroes’ Square, and the Citadel. Afternoon is free to explore this picturesque city on your own. Overnight.
DAY 7: BUDAPEST – BRATISLAVA – VIENNA
In the morning, we drive towards Bratislava, capital of Slovakia. After the tour of the charming city center we drive to the Castle from where there is a nice view of the Old Town and the Danube River. Then drive to Vienna, the “City of Waltz” which owes its fame to the fact that it was a capital of the large empire for a long time. Overnight.
Day 8: VIENNA
In the morning you start the sightseeing tour of the city: Hofburg Palace, City Hall, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Opera House, Philharmonic, Belvedere Palace, Prater Amusement Park, the UN Buildings. After a guided tour we recommend you to visit one of the typical Vienna cafes – they say that cafes developed here when the Turks were expelled from Austria during a well known battle near Vienna in 1683. They were running away leaving behind bags of coffee. Vienna is also the origin of the delicious Sacher cake, which you can enjoy in its authentic area. Overnight.
Day 8: VIENNA – CESKÝ KRUMLOV – PRAGUE
This day depart Austria for the Czech Republic. On your way to Prague you visit Ceský Krumlov, very well preserved medieval city. Its historic centre around the Castle, has been designated UNESCO World Heritage Site from 1992 on. It was given this status along with the historic Prague castle district. In the early evening you arrive to the Czech capital, Prague – “The City of a Thousand Spires”. Overnight.
Day 9: PRAGUE
In the morning you start with the panoramic drive to see famous city attractions as Wenceslas Square, Strahov Stadium and Castle Square. Then you continue with a walking tour where you visit the Royal Castle of Hradcany with the Cathedral of St. Vitus, the Old Royal Palace, St. George’s Basilica and the Golden Lane with Daliborka tower. After that you descend to the bank of the river Vltava, cross the Charles Bridge and walk through the old quarter of Prague. Here you see the Town Hall, the world-famous Astronomical Clock and the Jewish Ghetto. The rest of the day is free. Overnight.
Day 10: PRAGUE – DEPARTURE
After breakfast you will be transferred to Prague airport for your flight home.
