Day 1: VENICE – ARRIVAL
Arriving at Venice’s airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight.
Day 2: VENICE
Today begins with a walking tour of Venice featuring the major highlights: St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, Bell Tower, and Bridge of Sighs. Then you visit a glassblowing factory where you will watch a master artisan demonstrate this traditional Venetian art. The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy Venice at your own or to take an optional gondola ride.
DAY 3: VENICE – TRIESTE – POSTOJNA CAVES – LJUBLJANA
After breakfast, drive to Trieste, the capital of Friuli Venezia-Giulia, with its large port and high karst cliffs, rising behind the city. Visit the Miramar Castle perched on a cliff above the sea, built by the Emperor Franz Joseph’s. Then drive to Postojna and visit the famous cave, one of the largest in the world. Its stalagmite and stalactite formations are unequalled anywhere. An electric train will take you into the caves and then enjoy in the underground karst world, where nature was the main architect through the millennia and has formed amazing formations. Then we continue to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Overnight.
DAY 4: LJUBLJANA – BLED – LJUBLJANA
In the morning the guided tour will take you to the baroque old town, Prešeren Square, Congress Square, the City Hall, the Cathedral, the ‘Butchers’ Bridge, the Dragon Bridge and the open market, very popular with the locals. After a short break we drive to Bled, Slovenia’s most popular tourist resort. There you have a walk along the lakeshore and visit the Bled Castle with its scenic views. The positive energy of this place was discovered very early, it became a pilgrimage site and later a health resort. In the late afternoon you return back to Ljubljana. Overnight.
DAY 5: LJUBLJANA – SALZBURG – MUNICH
Morning drive from Ljubljana to Salzburg, birthplace of the great composer Mozart. Upon arrival you have walking tour of the old town with its beautiful squares, gardens, churches and palaces. Then you have free time to explore the city on your own, perhaps to visit Mozart house, go to the Castle overlooking the City or just wander around…. Later in the afternoon drive to Munich, the Bavarian capital. Overnight.
DAY 6: MUNICH
After breakfast you start the sightseeing tour of the city: Marienplatz Square, the gothic New Town Hall housing Munich’s world-famous Glockenspiel, Olympic Stadium with nearby BMW Welt ( exhibition of these famous cars), Nymphenburg Palace and Park with its gorgeous baroque façade… Afternoon is free to visit one of the countless museums or galleries. You can spend the evening in a typical Bavarian Bier house with live music. Overnight.
DAY 7: MUNICH – REGENSBURG – PRAGUE
This day depart Austria for the Czech Republic. On your way to Prague you visit Regensburg, one of the largest and best preserved medieval cities in Germany designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the early evening you arrive to the Czech capital, Prague – “The City of a Thousand Spires”. Overnight.
Day 8: PRAGUE
In the morning you start with the panoramic drive to see famous city attractions as Wenceslas Square, Strahov Stadium and Castle Square. Then you continue with a walking tour where you visit the Royal Castle of Hradcany with the Cathedral of St. Vitus, the Old Royal Palace, St. George’s Basilica and the Golden Lane with Daliborka tower. After that you descend to the bank of the river Vltava, cross the Charles Bridge and walk through the old quarter of Prague. Here you see the Town Hall, the world-famous Astronomical Clock and the Jewish Ghetto. The rest of the day is free. Overnight.
Day 9: PRAGUE – CESKÝ KRUMLOV – VIENNA
This day depart Czech Republic for Austria. On your way to Vienna you visit Ceský Krumlov very well preserved medieval city. Its historic center around the Castle, has been a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site from 1992 on. It was given this status along with the historic Prague castle district. In the early evening you arrive to Vienna, the “City of Waltz” which owes its fame to the fact that it was a capital of the large empire for a long time. After arrival time is free to explore Austria’s lovely capital. Overnight.
Day 10: VIENNA
In the morning you start the sightseeing tour of the city: Hofburg Palace, City Hall, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Opera House, Philharmonic, Belvedere Palace, Prater Amusement Park, the UN Buildings. After a guided tour we recommend you to visit one of the typical Vienna cafes – they say that cafes developed here when the Turks were expelled from Austria during a well-known battle near Vienna in 1683. They were running away leaving behind bags of coffee. Vienna is also the origin of the delicious Sacher cake, which you can enjoy in its authentic area. Overnight.
Day 11: VIENNA – DEPARTURE
After breakfast you will be transferred to Vienna airport for your flight home.
